bulletJuly 12, 2008.  Humane Society of Morgan County 4th Annual Ruff Rider Poker Run.

Saturday, July 12th 2008 Humane Society of Morgan County 4th Annual Ruff Rider Poker Run

We will be starting the Poker Run around 10:00 - 11:00 AM.

This year's event starts and ends at the Troubadour Lounge and Park. www.troubadourlounge.com
Go to this website and you will see the great history and story behind Jim and Bertha McCoy's unique and wonderful indoor lounge and outdoor park - located up on Highland Ridge Road, in Berkeley Springs

The route will again feature some of the most scenic roadways the Alleghany Mountains, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania has to offer.

This year, our motorcyclists will be accompanied by an escort of vintage and new-model Corvettes coming from the Corvette Club of Stafford, Virginia. We also hope to have a contingent of some vintage cars from the 50's & 60's, as well as some 60's "Muscle cars" from a Northern Virginia, but anyone and everyone is welcome to participate and "git their motor runnin' for the animals..."

The Poker Run ends back at the Troubadour Lounge and Park with the awarding of prizes.
We can stay in the park to enjoy cold drinks and food (for sale by the Troubadour), live music and dancing.
Early (prepaid) registration is available until July 5th for $15. Registration the day of the event is $20 per poker hand.
Point of contact for early registration is Sandy Ziegler at (304) 258-8475

Accommodations – We’ve arranged to have 20 rooms blocked out for out-of-town participants, with a special "HSMC Poker Run Discount" at the Best Western Hotel Berkeley Springs Inn (located at 1776 Valley Road behind Rankin Fitness). A discounted rate applies for a Friday, July 11th arrival and a July 13th departure. Contact the hotel directly at (304) 258-9400. Tell them that you are with group #281 (Humane Society Poker Run). Your room rate should be $69 (plus tax) rather than the regular $89 (plus tax).

Directions:
From I-70 in Maryland take exit 1B US 522 S to Berkeley Springs. Go approximately 7 miles or so, to the center of Berkeley Springs. Turn left onto the next street after Sheetz, turn onto Johnson’s Mill Road at Douglas Motors, follow Johnson’s Mill Road onto Highland Ridge Road, you’ll see signs to The Troubadour which is on the right (approx. 7 miles from 522).
